I dreamed of a place when I was a girl
A place where all of my heart could unfurl
I dreamed of a place where life would be kind
The soft sinking sand soothing my mind
Where waves crashed with fervour cleansing my soul
A romantic reality where life is a stroll
Ice cream and chips all I’d need for the day
Picnics and blankets stretched out on a bay
Sunshine or rain, whatever the weather
My heart and nature reunited together
I longed with an ache to live by the sea
Away from the city where I’d always feel free
Now it’s reality, I gave up the chase
And I live by the beach, my happy place.
