Welcome to writer by the sea. I’m an English tutor currently living in North Wales with a passion for poetry. Poetry, for me, is the creative medium that captures and translates the beauty and complexity of the human experience. It is both a therapy and an art to me; language being the paint and the page being my canvass. I started writing poetry when I was a teenager which enabled me to process and express the array of turbulent emotions I felt as life unfolded. Now in my 40s, I still find myself harnessing the power of poetry to explore the meaning of life. Whether it’s a seemingly ordinary moment like an interaction with a stranger, a moment of spiritual awakening, or a gut-wrenching life change, I use poetry to express the flood of feelings that so often confronts me and catches me off guard. Common themes in my poetry include nature, place, spirituality, reflection, change and, more recently, motherhood.
